Senate OKs reauthorization of key U S. surveillance program Los Angeles Times

It is likely now solely owned by one of the two Gates, though it isn't evident which one. The Vintage Club, whose membership reportedly includes billionaires Charles Koch and Dennis Washington, costs $300,000 to join and charges another $45,000 in annual dues. "We won't have that house forever," she told The New York Times in 2019. "I'm actually really looking forward to the day that Bill and I live in a 1,500-square-foot house." "My house is being designed and constructed so that it's a bit ahead of its time," Gates wrote in his 1995 book "The Road Ahead." It is made of wood, stone, glass, concrete, and "silicon and software." One of the major changes detractors had proposed centered on restricting the FBI’s access to information about Americans through the program.

How Much Money Does Bill Gates House Cost?

Every corner exudes an invitation to gastronomic exploration, where the act of cooking transforms into an art form, and the boundaries between culinary prowess and design finesse blur into a symphony of delightful flavors. The Microsoft co-founder even included a walkthrough of the lakefront property on the CD-ROM included with his 1995 book The Road Ahead. According to a recent article by Forbes, this ranks him as the second most wealthy individual in the world, just behind none other than Jeff Bezos. While Gates is notorious for leading a rather quiet, traditional lifestyle at home, this hasn’t prevented him from investing in quite a few toys. The lot, which sits on 2.76 acres, has the same tax address as Gates' many other properties and was linked to his lawyer and family office. Its assessed market value is $29.4 million — up from $5.8 million in the 2009 county record.

Lesser-Known Technological Wonders

The legislation that was approved 60 to 34 with bipartisan support would extend for two years the program known as Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Croke and Pritzker both are justifying their position that major school changes — like a complete overhaul of the selective-enrollment process in Chicago — should wait for a fully elected school board. After all, that’s the democratic thing to do — and the reasoning is difficult to argue against. It also means the 92 lawmakers who voted for the bill don’t have to say openly they don’t trust Johnson and Davis Gates on this issue. Of course, that isn’t the real problem the bill is addressing, and Todd-Breland and School Board President Jianan Shi, who has said similar things, presumably know that.

In Ukraine, relief over U.S. aid vote — and fear over what an angry Russia will do next

The lawmakers had demanded that Schumer allow votes on amendments to the legislation that would seek to address what they see as civil liberty loopholes in the bill. In the end, Schumer was able to cut a deal that would allow critics to receive floor votes on their amendments in exchange for speeding up the process for passage. The House passed a bill to reauthorize and reform a government surveillance tool without including broad restrictions on the FBI’s use to search for Americans’ data. President Biden on Saturday signed legislation reauthorizing a key U.S. surveillance law after divisions over whether the FBI should be restricted from using the program to search for Americans’ data nearly forced the statute to lapse. Davis Gates’ last bit of questionable strategizing is her proposal that negotiations with the city be held in public.

If the answer is a resounding "yes," it sounds like a smart home hub should enter your life. A 2008 profile of Melinda in Fortune (her first solo profile ever), revealed that Bill had been working on designing the home prior to their relationship, and it was far more of a tech-focused bachelor pad than a family home before she entered his life. Inside Bill Gates house emerges not as a dwelling but as a testament to a legacy in luxury living.

Bill Gates has long been reported to be a member of the exclusive Yellowstone Club — a ski and golf club tucked away in Big Sky Montana. Like the other San Diego homes, it was transferred between trusts in 2021 — and 5% is owned by the French Family Trust, Steven French, and Kristin French — likely relatives of Melinda. The Gates purchased another house about 10 minutes from Rancho Panseana a couple of weeks later in 2014 for $3.2 million. Like the rest of the San Diego Country properties, Rancho Paseana was transferred between trusts in 2021, around the time of Bill and Melinda's divorce.

President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a statement of appreciation moments after the vote, which occurred late Saturday evening Ukraine time. He thanked by name House Speaker Mike Johnson, the Louisiana Republican who had been heavily lobbied by Ukraine’s supporters to bring the measure to a vote despite bitter opposition from his party’s far-right flank. White House officials came to view Johnson as a direct and honest actor throughout the negotiations, according to a senior administration official. And he knew there was plenty of Republican support for further Ukraine funding. In private conversations with Johnson, Biden and White House officials emphasized the stakes for Europe if Ukraine were to fall to Russia. He exited the tech giant’s board in 2020 to "dedicate more time to his philanthropic priorities including global health, development, education, and his increasing engagement in tackling climate change," Microsoft said at that time.

Rwanda’s Hope Hostel once housed genocide survivors. Now it awaits migrants from Britain

A handheld remote helped you choose your settings, and while there’s no shortage of smart-home remotes today, it’s possible phones have replaced them in the Gates home. If you want the ability to adjust your artwork with the touch of a button or swipe of your hand, lots of digital frames can make your home a little more Gates-esque. Gates purchased the lot in 1988 and it took hundreds of workers seven years to build the house, according to The Street.

The lot cost Gates $2 million, while the house cost him $63 million, according to The Street. A Kings County Department of Assessments valuation in 2017 valued the property at around $127.5 million. As first reported by the Wall Street Journal, tech-magnate and philanthropic powerhouse Bill Gates plopped down $43 million for a sprawling estate with 120 feet of SoCal ocean frontage. Gates amassed a small real estate empire in San Diego County, and it started with a property in Rancho Santa Fe. It was also built to be energy-efficient and technologically advanced, with a heating and cooling system that automatically adjusts to guests' liking and lights that turn on and off automatically as people go from room to room.

There are several different garages at different points around the property. The most interesting one, however, is an underground cave made out of concrete and stainless steel. Some of the concrete was purposely broken to give it a rough, "deconstructivist" look. The 900-square-foot building sits next to Gates' sport court, putting green, and boat docks.

The Xanadu 2.0 gives fantastic views of Lake Washington and the Medina skyline and boasts 475 ft of the lake's waterfront. Apart from this natural water body, the house also features artificial streams and estuary systems that add to the complex's class. Bill Gates, who is globally recognized as the co-founder of Microsoft Corporation, a businessman, and a philanthropist, is currently one of the richest individuals globally with a net worth exceeding $129 billion. As a consequence, it is not unexpected that his residence is valued at over $130 million, carrying with it an annual property tax bill of $1.155 million. Gates wrote much of "The Road Ahead," his 1995 nonfiction book on the future of tech, at this guest house.

Following their 2021 divorce, a number of the properties were transferred from one trust to another — so it's hard to discern who owns exactly what, as all of their trusts are linked to the same Seattle bank. As one of the richest people in the world for decades, the Microsoft cofounder has built up an impressive real estate portfolio. With 275,000 acres across the United States, he's the country's 42nd biggest landowner, according to the Land Report. “This reauthorization of Section 702 gives the United States the authority to continue to collect foreign intelligence information about non-U.S. Persons located outside the United States, while at the same time codifying important reforms the Justice Department has adopted to ensure the protection of Americans’ privacy and civil liberties,” Garland said in a statement Saturday. The school board scared the daylights out of parents of Chicago school-age children late last year when it called for a rethinking of Chicago Public Schools’ selective-enrollment options.

Ukrainians contemplate the once unthinkable: Losing the war with Russia

“First thing, as you come in, you’ll be presented with an electronic pin to clip to your clothes. This pin will connect you to the electronic services of the house,” Gates wrote in The Road Ahead. He explained that the house would learn your preferences and adjust to your needs. Your affinity to dimmer lights, R&B, and Monet paintings would mean the lamps, music system, and screens would all adjust when you enter the room.

On explicit orders from Biden, White House officials also avoided directly attacking Johnson over the stalled aid — a directive the president repeatedly instilled in his senior staff. Far-right Republicans have also adamantly opposed sending more money for Ukraine. Biden in August requested more than $20 billion to keep aid flowing into Ukraine, but the money was stripped out of a must-pass spending bill even as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky traveled to Washington to make a personal plea for continued U.S. backing. At the time, the House was in chaos because the Republican majority had been unable to select a speaker to replace Rep. Kevin McCarthy of Bakersfield, who had been removed more than two weeks earlier. McCarthy’s ouster by the GOP’s far right came after he agreed earlier to allow federal spending levels that many far-right House Republicans disagreed with and wanted undone.

A single tour of the house can cost $35 000

But if you’re Bill Gates, with a net worth of $134 billion, nothing is really off limits. Th house was built by architect and designer Ken Ronchetti back in 1999, and has a generouse 120 feet of ocean frontage. As part of the Microsoft auctions that harvest proceeds for the company's charity projects, a Microsoft employee once bid $ to win a private tour of the house. It features an Art Deco style complete with comfortable armchairs and couches, excellent lighting, and even a popcorn machine for the best experience. This stream has so far found inhabitants in salmons and trout, which only adds to the mansion's eco-friendly nature. The stream was designed to prevent runoffs that could be caused by the mansion's very high walls.

Half a million board-feet of lumber was needed to complete the project.

The measure is also meant to be a deterrent to migrants who risk their lives in leaky, inflatable boats in hopes that they will be able to claim asylum once they reach Britain. Also signed a new treaty with Rwanda to beef up protections for migrants, and adopted new legislation declaring Rwanda to be a safe country. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is under pressure to explain why Britain has paid Rwanda $300 million as part of a blocked asylum plan.

There is even a place ready and waiting for the migrants — a refurbished Hope Hostel in the vibrant upscale neighborhood of Kagugu, an area of the Rwandan capital of Kigali that is home to many expatriates and several international schools. “If you vote for this bill, you are voting for cancer — and it will hurt my feelings, and I will not smile at you on the elevator,” said state Rep. LaDonna Appelbaum, who is undergoing treatment for cancer. “We are grateful that members of the Missouri House have supported farmers and science over the litigation industry,” Bayer said in a statement Wednesday. The Missouri legislation says that federally approved pesticide labeling “shall be sufficient to satisfy any requirement for a warning label regarding cancer” — effectively thwarting failure-to-warn allegations in future lawsuits. Bayer disputes claims that Roundup’s key ingredient, glyphosate, causes a cancer called non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. But it has set aside $16 billion and already paid about $10 billion of that amount to resolve some of the tens of thousands of legal claims against it.

In 2016, the Gates’ bought a few more Wellington properties, including a four-bedroom pad, for $13.5 million, and two empty lots, for $5 million. “He wished the technology to be as invisible as possible,” architect Peter Bohlin, who designed the compound, along with James Cutler, told Philly.com in 1995. "With the foundation in Seattle, we will be here for at least six months out of the year. But I assure you, if we decide to spend six months somewhere else it will be in a smaller house," she told the publication at the time. Melinda eventually hired interior designer Thierry Despont to help make it more livable.

This tunnel, as with many other Bill Gates properties, was paid for by Watermark Estate Services. According to US News, the 1,900-square-foot guest house was the first building to be completed on the property. The house — which has its own bedroom and bathroom — was meant to be a test of the technology that would eventually be used in the main house. Constructed over seven years at a cost of $66.5 million, the Gates’ residence spans over 66,000 square feet and showcases a plethora of luxurious amenities and cutting-edge technology. Xanadu 2.0 stands as one of the most expensive and technologically advanced homes globally.

There are several garages at different locations around the premises. The coolest one is an underground garage that can take up to 10 cars and is made out of concrete and stainless steel. This is one part of the house that is not open to the public and not many people have seen it. While a garage door has many moving parts, it is highly dependent upon a fully functional garage door opener.

The 60-foot pool is in its own separate, 3,900-square-foot building — the large brown building in the photo above. People in the pool could swim underneath a glass wall to come up to a terrace area on the outside. At 66,000 square feet, the home is absolutely massive, and it's loaded to the brim with high-tech details. In addition to these lavish amenities, Xanadu 2.0 boasts an array of high-tech features that elevate it to new heights of modern living.

Designed by world renowned architect Ken Rochetti, the Gates’ new home features six bedrooms and 3.5 baths. The billionaire philanthropists Bill and Melinda Gates have purchased an extraordinary beach house outside San Diego – splashing out on $43 million for an oceanfront mansion in the coastal town of Del Mar, California. One hundred of these workers were electricians who oversaw the installation of the house's different intelligent features.

The following table includes escape sequences defined in standard C as well as some non-standard sequences. The C standard requires an escape sequence that does not match a defined sequence to be diagnosed – i.e., the compiler must print an error message. Static members of public classes can substitute for global variables and functions. The only implicit conversions by default are those that are considered safe, such as widening of integers. This is enforced at compile-time, during JIT, and, in some cases, at runtime. No implicit conversions occur between Booleans and integers, nor between enumeration members and integers (except for literal 0, which can be implicitly converted to any enumerated type).

Object storage

If there are no parameters, the may be left empty or optionally be specified with the single word void. The identifier must be a label (followed by a colon) located in the current function. A missing second expression makes the while test always non-zero, creating a potentially infinite loop. The largest allowed array subscript is therefore equal to the number of elements in the array minus 1.

Passing Registers to Functions

The translation from 0x0A to 0x0D 0x0A on DOS and Windows occurs when the byte is written out to a file or to the console, and the inverse translation is done when text files are read. Boxing is the operation of converting a value-type object into a value of a corresponding reference type.[103] Boxing in C# is implicit. The main aim is to efficiently and consistently write type and resource safe C++. In addition, templates are a compile-time mechanism in C++ that is Turing-complete, meaning that any computation expressible by a computer program can be computed, in some form, by a template metaprogram prior to runtime. More technical specifications are in development and pending approval, including new set of concurrency extensions.

List of C-family programming languages

The octal and hex escape sequences always denote certain sequences of numerical values, regardless of encoding. Therefore, universal character names are complementary to octal and hex escape sequences; while octal and hex escape sequences represent code units, universal character names represent code points, which may be thought of as "logical" characters. The application programming interface (API) of the C standard library is declared in a number of header files. Each header file contains one or more function declarations, data type definitions, and macros. Void pointers are commonly found in dynamic memory allocation functions, for example as return type for malloc() and as parameter type for free(), and any other generic memory accessing functions such as memcpy() or fwrite(). Keep in mind though, since it removes details of the data itself, dereferencing a void pointer will result in a compiler error, unless we first cast to an explicit pointer type.

C Sharp (programming language)

It also defines other limits that are relevant to the processing of floating-point numbers. This declares the enum colors type; the int constants RED (whose value is 0), GREEN (whose value is one greater than RED, 1), BLUE (whose value is the given value, 5), and YELLOW (whose value is one greater than BLUE, 6); and the enum colors variable paint_color. The constants may be used outside of the context of the enum (where any integer value is allowed), and values other than the constants may be assigned to paint_color, or any other variable of type enum colors. In cases where code must be compilable by either standard-conforming or K&R C-based compilers, the __STDC__ macro can be used to split the code into Standard and K&R sections to prevent the use on a K&R C-based compiler of features available only in Standard C. In 1978, Brian Kernighan and Dennis Ritchie published the first edition of The C Programming Language.[17] Known as K&R from the initials of its authors, the book served for many years as an informal specification of the language. As this was released in 1978, it is now also referred to as C78.[18] The second edition of the book[19] covers the later ANSI C standard, described below.

Standard Library

C was the first widely successful high-level language for portable operating-system development. An escape sequence changes how the compiler interprets character data in a literal. For example, \n does not represent a backslash followed by the letter n.

The difference is that "A" represents a null-terminated array of two characters, 'A' and '\0', whereas 'A' directly represents the character value (65 if ASCII is used). The same backslash-escapes are supported as for strings, except that (of course) " can validly be used as a character without being escaped, whereas ' must now be escaped. The type qualifier const indicates that a value does not change once it has been initialized. Attempting to modify a const qualified value yields undefined behavior, so some C compilers store them in rodata or (for embedded systems) in read-only memory (ROM). There are also compilers, libraries, and operating system level mechanisms for performing actions that are not a standard part of C, such as bounds checking for arrays, detection of buffer overflow, serialization, dynamic memory tracking, and automatic garbage collection.

c&f design

Functions may be written by the programmer or provided by existing libraries. Interfaces for the latter are usually declared by including header files—with the #include preprocessing directive—and the library objects are linked into the final executable image. Certain library functions, such as printf, are defined by the C standard; these are referred to as the standard library functions. The type system in C is static and weakly typed, which makes it similar to the type system of ALGOL descendants such as Pascal.[36] There are built-in types for integers of various sizes, both signed and unsigned, floating-point numbers, and enumerated types (enum). There are also derived types including arrays, pointers, records (struct), and unions (union).

Name and symbol typesetting

An implementation of C providing all of the standard library functions is called a hosted implementation. Programs written for hosted implementations are required to define a special function called main, which is the first function called when a program begins executing. The result is a "pointer to int" variable (a) that points to the first of n contiguous int objects; due to array–pointer equivalence this can be used in place of an actual array name, as shown in the last line. The advantage in using this dynamic allocation is that the amount of memory that is allocated to it can be limited to what is actually needed at run time, and this can be changed as needed (using the standard library function realloc).

Nowadays, almost all new languages adopt or build upon C-style string syntax. The primary facility for accessing the values of the elements of an array is the array subscript operator. To access the i-indexed element of array, the syntax would be array[i], which refers to the value stored in that array element. C has also been widely used to implement end-user applications.[53] However, such applications can also be written in newer, higher-level languages. During the late 1970s and 1980s, versions of C were implemented for a wide variety of mainframe computers, minicomputers, and microcomputers, including the IBM PC, as its popularity began to increase significantly. In the 2020 version of the Latin Kazakh Alphabet, the letter represents the voiceless alveolo-palatal affricate /tɕ/, which is similar to /t͡ʃ/.

Figures are either by definition, or approximated from empirical measurements. Throughout the 19th century, the scale was based on 0 °C for the freezing point of water and 100 °C for the boiling point of water at 1 atm pressure. (In Celsius's initial proposal, the values were reversed; the boiling point was 0 degrees and the freezing point was 100 degrees). The table shows the ASCII value a sequence maps to, however, it may map to different values based on encoding. A decade later, Microsoft began developing free, open-source, and cross-platform tooling for C#, namely Visual Studio Code, .NET Core, and Roslyn. In this first instance, they are marking the start and end of the Program class.

First, "static initialization" is performed, and only after all static initialization is performed, "dynamic initialization" is performed. In static initialization, all objects are first initialized with zeros; after that, all objects that have a constant initialization phase are initialized with the constant expression (i.e. variables initialized with a literal or constexpr). Though it is not specified in the standard, the static initialization phase can be completed at compile time and saved in the data partition of the executable.

Again, reading from left to right, this accesses the 5th row, and the 4th element in that row. FACT SHEET: Biden-Harris Administration Hosts First-Ever White House Summit for Sustainable and Healthy Schools

President Biden and Vice President Harris believe that every person should have access to clean drinking water and a healthy environment. Since Day One, the Biden-Harris Administration has worked to secure clean water for all, protect our vital freshwater resources, and ensure every community can count on water free of pollutants when they turn on the faucet. The Administration also recognizes that wetlands and other freshwater resources are critical in our fight against climate change. To bring safe, clean water to Tribal communities, the Department of Health and Human Services' Indian Health Services (IHS) and the Department of the Interior's Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) are announcing over $1 billion from the President's Investing in America agenda and a new partnership. Roughly half of Tribal households lack access to clean drinking water or adequate sanitation. Today's announcement includes $700 million from IHS and $320 million from BOR to accelerate the delivery of drinking water and community sanitation infrastructure projects in Indian Country.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Is Taking Action to Strengthen Primary Care

Together IHS and the USPHS Commissioned Corps, developed a seven-year strategic plan to improve recruitment and retention of Public Health Service officers with expertise in engineering, environmental health, and health services. This historic partnership between IHS and BOR will support strategic collaboration to accelerate completion of Tribal facilities and more effectively promote awareness and access to resources available to Tribes. As part of the initial actions under the historic partnership between IHS and BOR, IHS launched an interactive website in April 2023 to furnish insights into projects funded through the BIL. This dynamic platform will continue to offer updated information, encompassing project-funding amounts, Tribes served, homes impacted, and project statuses. Projects funded through FY 2024 BIL and the FY 2024 enacted appropriations will be included after the funds are transferred to the IHS Areas.

HHS Announces Phase 1 Winners in Environmental Justice Community Innovator Challenge

In addition, IHS and BOR are announcing the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two agencies to leverage BOR's engineering capacity to accelerate the delivery of Tribal water projects. Throughout Earth Week, the Biden-Harris Administration will announce additional actions to build a stronger, healthier future for all. On Monday, President Biden announced the launch of ClimateCorps.gov as well as $7 billion in awards through EPA's Solar for All program.

By transforming negative thoughts and feelings, the violet flame provides a platform for our healing, erases records of the past, transmutes personal and planetary karma, releases doubt and fear, unlocks potential and expands one's inner spiritual guidance. It is a regulating energy that keeps you in a point of self-regeneration and rejuvenation. Every relationship has its challenges — whether we find ourselves with our soul mate, twin flame, or a karmic partner.

By increasing immediate support staff for the sanitation programs at IHS, the partnership will cultivate a talent pool that reflects the diversity and skills needed to address public health needs and improve wellbeing within American Indian and Alaska Native communities. It will also fortify a commitment to improve essential infrastructure, advance health equity and increase opportunities for communities to thrive. The purpose of this collaboration is to accelerate completion of Tribal facilities in communities that do not have reliable access to a domestic water supplies, and to promote resources available to Tribes, including through the BOR’s Tribal Domestic Water Supplies Program. Many states are already using their own authorities and resources to better protect America's freshwater systems.

Department of Health and Human Services, provides a comprehensive health service delivery system for approximately 2.8 million American Indians and Alaska Natives who belong to 574 federally recognized Tribes in 37 states. In FY 2024, the IHS will allocate approximately $653.4 million to support project construction, of which $613.8 million is FY 2024 BIL funding and $39.6 million is FY 2024 enacted appropriations, which includes Congressionally Directed Spending projects. When combined, the FY 2024 BIL funding and annual appropriations will enable IHS to fully fund construction costs for 91 projects. In the third session is a panel discussion on how local leaders in Broward County are making an impact, moderated by Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance Executive Vice President Ron Drew with leaders from the local community. Renner first gaveled in during an organization session in late 2022, laying out a bold agenda promoting economic strength “full of prosperity, abundant with opportunity and rich in quality of life,” Renner said at the time.

The seven color rays are the natural division of the pure white light emanating from the heart of God as it descends through the prism of manifestation.

The path back to the Source can be walked over seven rays of the Christ consciousness that emerge from the white light. It is our opportunity to become one with our Higher Self, whether we call it the Christ, the Buddha, the Tao or the Atman. It is the potential of our Divinity waiting to burst into being within our humanity. The threefold flame, or divine spark, is the seed of the divine within our heart chakra and the seed of the Inner Christ and the Inner Buddha. It is our personal focus of the sacred fire, our opportunity to become one with our Higher Self, whether we call it the Christ, the Buddha, the Tao or the Atman. Above all, the Summit House is famous for the amazing flavors and incredible food presentations created by Executive Chef Timothy Plumb’s culinary team.

Around the violet flame is the protective white light of God known as the tube of light. We apply the science of the spoken Word to call forth that tube of light as a protection, sealing our aura, sealing our chakras from the heavy weight of darkness that is upon the planet. A pilot project under this agreement has been identified with the Yakama Nation in Washington State. After an IHS engineering investigation confirmed high levels of arsenic in the water system of the small community of Georgeville, the Yakama Nation and IHS agreed to construct a treatment system to remove arsenic from the water supply using Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding.

For example, North Carolina recently set a goal to protect one million acres of natural lands, with a special focus on wetlands, and to restore one million acres of forests and wetlands within the state. New York state recently enacted statutory changes to its Freshwater Wetlands Act that will safeguard an additional million acres of valuable wetlands. And Washington recently protected almost 1,000 miles of rivers as Outstanding National Resource Waters, one of the highest levels of protection afforded to our freshwater resources. The outcome of this funding is substantial – more than 36,000 American Indian and Alaska Native households will benefit by gaining access to essential services. Notably, improved sanitation facilities can reduce inpatient and outpatient visits related to respiratory, skin and soft tissue, and gastroenteric disease.

The threefold flame embodies the same qualities that manifest in the hearts of the Almighty, of our I AM Presence, and of our Higher Self. Located on a gated street just above Hollywood & Vine, the house is centrally located with easy access to 101 Freeway.

The digs at Carl and Lindsay doesn't stop there, though — Paige DeSorbo even accuses them of lying about their relationship and claimed "they spin everything." However, when it comes to taking the next step, she continues to make excuses, feeling like marriage and relocating to Charleston will change her identity. When she starts looking for a new apartment in New York, Craig questions her choices and she is left wondering if her unwillingness to commit is going to push their relationship over the edge. "There have been a lot of false narratives and misunderstandings that have made this all the more painful but sadly at this time we are not moving forward with the wedding," Carl continued. As the tension escalates, Lindsay calls Carl "a f---ing terrorist," and tells Kyle says ominously, "I'll burn this f---ing house down." And things seem to be on the up in general, with Lindsay welcoming Danielle, Amanda Batula, Ciara Miller and Gabby Prescod to her bridal shower.

Where Amanda Spends the Most Time in Her Apartment

Rather than traveling back and forth between New York City and the Hamptons each weekend, the cast lived together and worked from home in the Hamptons for a full six weeks while filming occurred. There are eight seasons of Summer House, all available to stream on Peacock. New episodes of Season 8 air Thursdays on Bravo at 9/8c and will be available to stream next day on Peacock. Carl’s life is busier than ever and he has no plans of slowing down anytime soon. After moving in with Lindsay, he wants to keep the momentum of their relationship going and is ready to start their forever as he begins searching for the perfect ring. With recent frustrations he’s been facing in his professional life, however, Carl plans to sit down with Kyle and talk about his future at Loverboy before things come to a head. Because we believe that even winter should be fun, we have some big news on when the new season of Summer House will premiere.

Kyle Cooke, Cristina Gibson, Lindsay Hubbard, Stephen McGee, Carl Radke, Jaclyn Shuman, Everett Weston, Ashley Wirkus, and Lauren Wirkus were introduced as cast members.

She and Kyle are in a great place in their marriage and after adopting two dogs, she’s exploring the idea of starting a family. However, the stress of potentially not being able to have kids is building due to recent health issues, and Amanda finds herself in a position she never imagined herself. This summer Kyle is refreshed and excited to send it with his friends in the Hamptons.

Steps away in the kitchen, Carl says in resignation, "I’ll be the bad guy, that’s fine. But she’s blind to the things that have gone on the last year." Andy brings up how Kyle, 40, has named housemate Ciara Miller his hall pass if he ever had the chance to sleep with someone aside from wife Amanda Batula. PEOPLE can exclusively reveal the season 7 reunion, which begins with Lindsay Hubbard and Danielle Olivera hashing out the tension in their friendship. Check out the full Season 7 trailer at the top of the post to see what the cast was up to during the summer of 2022. According to his official BravoTV.com bio, Jesse is "single and always ready to mingle." Amanda Batula, Kyle Cooke, Paige DeSorbo, Luke Gulbranson, Lindsay Hubbard, Ciara Miller, Danielle Olivera, and Carl Radke returned, with Andrea Denver of Winter House, Mya Allen, and Alex Wach.

He’s turning 40 and although age is just a number, the reality of this milestone birthday is starting to hit him. Questioning if he can support a family, Kyle wishes he were further along in his journey to financial freedom. And for the first time in their friendship, he finds himself at odds with Carl both personally and professionally.

Southern Charm’s Craig Conover and Austen Kroll made guest appearances. The house in the fifth season is located at 10 Watermill Height Drive, Water Mill, New York. Paige is happily in love with Craig, and they are the best they’ve ever been.

Mya Allen, Amanda Batula, Kyle Cooke, Paige DeSorbo, Lindsay Hubbard, Ciara Miller, Danielle Olivera, and Carl Radke are all returning. The housemates are joined by new friends Samantha Feher, Chris Leoni, and Gabby Prescod, as well as old friends Andrea Denver and Kory Keefer. Kyle's also dealing with his own relationship issues as Ciara, 28, asks his wife Amanda, "Do you, like, feel like you have an identity outside of Kyle? Because I don't." Putting the proverbial nail in the coffin, Carl's stepfather tells him, "I've been a minister my whole career. And I've married tons of people. I wouldn't marry you and Lindsay."

Season 7 premieres in February, and get ready, because the drama is about to heat you up during this cold, cold season. Per a press release, the Summer House cast is embracing "a fresh start" on Season 8. What's more, "Everyone seems poised to indulge in the most carefree summer yet, but while some relationships start to take off, others become more fractured than anyone could have imagined." Unlike previous seasons where filming took place over weekends throughout the summer, the format was changed for season five due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Her parents left their family home in New York last summer  to pursue a new life for themselves in Texas. Feeling abandoned, she leans on her new friends in the house for support, but finds letting her guard down is harder than she expected. Following weeks of rumors of his and Hubbard’s relationship status, he announced the news in a letter, which was obtained by PEOPLE, to family and friends that explained the decision.

MoMA’s Colorplay Backgammon Set is a decidedly modern take on the ancient game, and it’s pretty enough to leave out as decor. You want a sketchbook that fits easily in your hands, something that's portable so you’ll always have it with you. I like a wire-bound one because it lays flat on the desk and choosing one with a grid allows you to sketch to scale by assigning each grid a unit of measurement. I know this will last a lifetime, but there are certainly cheaper options and you might opt for a tool chest or tackle box as a lower cost alternative; they just won’t hold quite as much stuff.

Collecting and consuming art always fills the creative reserves and tops my list of things to do when traveling. In December as the year winds down, I carve out a little time to review progress and chart the course ahead. At the end of 2023, that included celebrating and reflecting back on ten years in business. I don’t know about you, but I bristle at all the, “New Year, New You” post-holiday admonishments we hear every new year. As if we have to completely reinvent ourselves to make any kind of progress. It’s not a fully formed idea and so to further explore the concept I construct a study model. I use it to study the building forms and site relationships and it’s essentially a three-dimensional sketch. When I started 30X40 Design Workshop in 2013 I was focused on building a non-traditional studio. I wanted to design homes, but as a creative person with many interests, I wanted a business that would allow me to explore them all. I made a very simple shift in the way I practice and this course explains how you can make that transition too.

Left undivided it can handle all the irregularly shaped tools and supplies we’re about to fill it with. It’s large enough to hold all your supplies, but it’s small enough that it’s still portable. Just under the lid there are three mesh pouches, Yeti calls this the ‘pack attic’ which adds another layer of organization to the box for storing a tablet, a laptop and sketching tools.

I have three cameras that travel with me, the best quality images and video come from my mirrorless DSLR, the Canon EOS R has been my go-to camera for a few years now. For lenses, if I have to choose just two for my site visit kit, I’d choose the Canon EF 16-35mm f4L IS for it’s wide field of view. These allow me to capture most spaces I encounter on a typical job site - from very tight interiors and broad exterior facades to intricate details. Trying to recreate someone else’s visual style in Midjourney is less interesting to me than the process of experimenting with the tool to produce the kind of image that’s useful to my design process. For example, I’m more interested in creating building forms that don’t look anything like their antecedents. I often force Midjourney to produce buildings without common attributes, like windows or doors, by using the modifier “no” (––no windows ––no doors).

Give a set to your tidiest friend, particularly if they grind their own coffee beans—they’ll appreciate how easy it is to sweep up between brew sessions. If you know someone with allergies, then this is a gift they’ll appreciate.

When it comes to new home gifts, a custom home number sign can be the perfect thing to celebrate this milestone moment. This design features the street number and name, and for an extra touch the seller also creates matching last name signs that can be displayed side by side. The maker of one of our favorite gift baskets, Zingerman’s is an Ann Arbor, Michigan–based grocery whose delicious offerings have attracted fans from across the country. All of the contents have a relatively long shelf life, so the recipients can nosh for days while unpacking.

Durr recommends spending $20 to $50 on a gift, but at the end of the day, you’ll be able to make the best call for you. Just note that they should be hand washed after each use to prevent shrinkage or damage. Send me exclusive offers, unique gift ideas, and personalized tips for shopping and selling on Etsy. One of the great joys of being a new homeowner (or renter) is hosting friends and family in the space for the first time. This is an event that typically calls for celebratory drinks—lots of ’em. With the help of this Mark & Graham margarita board, anyone can be a mixologist at home. It’s made of certified wood bamboo, so it has a nice sleek look. Plus, it includes laser-engraved monogramming for that extra personal touch.

It’s also a camping essential they won’t want to leave home without. It might seem strange buying someone a lamp, but InPowered doesn’t make an ordinary one. These genius lamps are constructed to provide next-level security during a power outage, offering 16 to 24 hours of continuous backup light.

All the colors are gorgeous and would make the perfect first dinner gift paired with a nice bottle of wine. If they like this gift, Anthropologie has a whole Waterfall collection with matching items like flutes and a carafe. Waterproof and durable, these labels are a great addition to any modern pantry. This inexpensive Dutch oven looks great, is easy to clean, and rivals pricier models. These terry-lined silicone mitts are the best-looking ones we’ve found that offer good coverage and reliable heat protection. This teapot’s metal basket fills the whole glass pot, allowing the leaves to expand and steep fully.

This kit includes four of The Spice House’s most popular seasonings. They can make everything from wings to burgers with these spices. It’s a great way to try out new recipes and get some use out of the new kitchen. This is a unique gift because the spices are more atypical than the seasonings anyone can pick up at their local grocery store. Whether they’re a pro in the kitchen or looking to experiment, this best sellers collection will do the trick.

Jim, Kris and family were busy running Wood’ys grill and bar, a popular casual dining restaurant concept with multiple locations but the opportunity to acquire Sacramento’s original excursion boat was too good to pass up. We offer a full bar, specialty cocktails, beers, and a well-rounded wine list.
